Phishing Alert! Scammers Trying To Steal Your LinkedIn Credentials

Recently, a new phishing campaign is discovered by a well known data security company. This new phishing campaign is targeting the business oriented users  by focusing on their LinkedIn credentials. The campaign starts with a fake invitation email that is delivered at the victim’s email address. In order to make it look legitimate, it replicates the original LinkedIn invitation email. Plus the message in the email is signed by the alleged manager of coal and mineral manufacturer by the name of “Sally Emily”.

The email message also consists of Accept and View Profile links. Clicking on these links takes the user to a page that looks like the LinkedIn login page. However, the issue with this page is, the page is fake and is there to steal victim’s login credentials. Scammers grab the credentials that a gullible user enters and then take full access and control of the account.

What is advised for the users is to do all the checking before clicking on a similar LinkedIn invitation email. Plus installing a comprehensive antivirus software, such as Stopzilla antivirus can help. This is a reliable antivirus that provides a strong and effective protection from all impending attacks. However, it is also true that certain problems may also arise in the Stopzilla solutions that you use. Minor issues are easily fixable, but it’s bigger-complicated issues that leave you clueless and stuck.

So in order to make things easier, the experts in various support companies are providing their seasoned Stopzilla support non-stop. Techcillin is one such reliable support company. The good thing is it is its technical support not limited to just Stopzilla products, but they also entail other brands as well. A simple call at their respective tech support number, such as AVG support number, Avast support number, F-Secure tech support number, Norton phone support number etc. will get you all the help that you are looking for.

How To Add Websites To ESET NOD32 “List of Allowed Addresses”

ESET NOD32 is one of the most comprehensive antivirus programs that is available in the market. It is a well developed feature rich antivirus software. It is fast, easy, and effective. Moreover, it can be modified as per the user’s necessities. A proactive protection from all incoming attacks (both online and offline) is one of the intriguing feature of NOD32. This is a very handy feature, which stops the infections (viruses, malware, worms, spyware etc.) before they become able to penetrate into your system security. This feature checks all the websites and URL you visit, for the presence of any malicious content; if a malicious content is found it then automatically blocks it.

http://www.techcillin.com/nod32.html
But there are often times, when the proactive protection feature causes interruptions and issues while you access your favorite website (which are otherwise safe to visit). Due to the false positives, NOD32 thinks of a safe website as a malicious one and blocks it.
However, there is an easy way to solve this problem and stop NOD32 from blocking a safe website; you can add the desired website to the whitelist of NOD32 called “List of Allowed Addresses”. All you have to do is

  • Open main interface of NOD32 and open Web Access Protection settings, present under Advanced Setup window.
  •   Open Access Management and click on Access Management link
  •    Select List of Allowed Addresses from the dropdown list and then click on Add to enter the URL in the text field.

Once done, save all the settings changes and exit. You can then access the white-listed URL and NOD32 will no longer block it. However, you may also require avail technical support provided by experts, because issues can arise anytime. Good thing is the NOD32 technical support is available 24X7 and 365 days a year. All that is required is you contacting the support sources, like Techcillin and others.

Issues with the software and computer can arise at any point. But it is contacting the experts that ensure faster, easier, and effective resolutions. The good news is that now, rather than sticking to a single brand, many of the support companies provide support across multiple brands like NOD32 support, McAfeetechnical support, AVG support etc. All that a user has to do is call at their toll free number and avail the requisite support.

Fortinet Warns About a New Variant of NgrBot That Can Wipe Hard Drive

Protecting your computer and data at today’s time is getting difficult day by day. On each single day, thousands of new malware and virus variants are discovered to be active in the wild and affecting-stealing users’ data. The researchers at the leading data security company, Fortinet also recently discovered a new variant of NgrBot which has the ability to wipe the complete hard drive.

NgrBot is an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) worm and spreads through the chat messages, IRC channels, and social networking websites etc. According to Fortinet this new variant of NgrBot spreads through IRC channels and then performs various attacks that are IRC-based commands. Once the worm invades into the victim’s computer, it then simply wipes the victim’s hard drive by filling the hard disk sectors with zeros. Plus, the worm also downloads and hooks three APIs that prevents the victim from accessing the antivirus-related websites. It simply marks all the major antivirus vendors’ websites in its blacklist. If the hooked API finds any of the blacklisted website, it then blocks the access to that website. On top of all these, the worm also sends and receives IRC based commands from C&C server. These commands are used to download-install other malware.

“Currently, we are seeing the use of these commands in order to spread other bots, such as Andromeda, Neurevt, and Lethic,” writes He Xu, researcher at Fortinet.

If your PC has been infected by the NgrBot then it is necessary that you remove it instantly because, you can lose the whole data that are stored in your hard drive. You can use the latest Fortinet antivirus to remove the worm. This is a reliable and effective antivirus software that can quickly detect the worm and then remove worms effectively. Additionally, if proactive protection is enabled, then it prevents the impending attacks from entering your PC. Meanwhile, issues may arise with the Fortinet antivirus that you are using. Simply availing the Fortinet technical support that you can find in companies like Techcillin and others is the easy and effective way to solve your Fortinet issues.

The good thing is many of the support companies provide support for multiple antivirus brands such as, Fortinet support, ESET support, McAfee support, AVG support etc. This makes the task of availing technical support easy for the customers. All that a user has to do is dial the respective support number and then avail the requisite support.

However, the attackers are also simultaneously working on the ways to improve severity and infiltration abilities of their attacks. Now, there exists most number of malware variants and exploits that ever did in the past.

Security researchers at Fortinet’s threat research labs, the FortiGuard Labs, recently reported a 0.98 percent increase in the activity of Dorkbot, just in May. For those who don’t know what is a Dorkbot; well, it is one of the most severe and effective malware, which once activated on the victim’s computer, can steal username and password, launch a Denial of Service (DOS) attack, hide the files on the desktop, download other malware, or even block the access to some websites (that are related to security updates).
The common medium to spread Dorkbot is using the malicious links that impel users to download inconspicuous files like “facebook-profile-pic-(random string)-JPEG.exe” and the recent “skype_(DDMMYY)_foto.exe”.

The outcomes of getting infected by Dorkbot can get as severe as they can. ESET Warns Android Users about Two Android Bugs Risking Exploits

ESET, the global leader in proactive digital protection, is warning users against two Android bugs that could let the malicious apps and codes run wild on your Android devices. Although these two bugs are present in the prior versions of Android OS, Jelly Bean and Gingerbread and, the bugs have been fixed in Android Kit Kat OS version, but since very few devices run on Android Kit Kat OS so far, therefore many Android users are still under threat. Installing ESET Android security app and ESET antivirus in your PC, and keeping these security solutions updated can help you stay protected. Plus availing ESET tech support at times of need is also quite helpful.
http://www.techcillin.com/eset-support.html

Curesec, a German Security company, found these two separate Android bugs. According to Curesec, these two found bugs can be exploited by malicious codes, to bypass the privileged permissions, specifically automatic call-forwarding or phone call to premium rate numbers.
“Android normally has to grant permission so that your applications can conduct actions,”
“If your installed application does not own the right to do a phone call, the Android OS should throw a permission denied,” the researchers write.
“However this bug is circumventing the situation and allows any malicious app to do a phone call, send [codes to the network] or hangup an ongoing call.”
According to ESET’s Threat Trend Report, there is “an escalating increase in serious threats targeting Android phones and tablets – ESET detections of such malware increased more than 60% between 2012 and 2013. This trend is predicted to continue in 2014.”

So it is very necessary for the Android users that they protect themselves using preventing and protective measures, like installing reliable Android security solutions and also keeping away from malicious apps and apps’ sources. Plus staying in contact with tech support experts like Techcillin is also helpful, as effective support, like PC support, antivirus support, Avira technical support, virus removal support etc., can be availed at any time.
