Webroot Warns Against Fake ‘Customer Daily Statement’ Themed Emails

Webroot, the leading digital data security company, is warning the users against fake spam emails that are sent as the ‘customer daily statement’ to fool the gullible users. The company’s researchers have recently discovered a new campaign, which is currently circulating at bulk. According to Webroot, these malicious emails impersonate themselves as Barkeley Futures Limited and contain a malicious attachment which is presented as a legitimate ‘Customer Daily Statement’. The sampled malware attached in the mail is found to be a Trojan-Ransom.Win32.Foregin.kaka. On executing the malware it starts listening to ports 16576 and then creates mutexes on affected hosts.
Attackers have long been using such fake-dubious emails to trick users into downloading some unwanted files or malware, viruses, or trojans. There are hundreds of past cases where a gullible user is tricked and has suffered data or privacy loss. The attackers simply use various attractive content and popular brand names in order to impersonate something which is legitimate. Gullible users simply think them as the legitimate ones, and then simply download the attached file or open the links present in the email, which at the end downloads and steals their private data.

Installing Webroot Antivirus and Webroot Internet Security can protect you against all spamvertised emails including, the reported one, mentioned above. These are powerful security solutions, upon which you can rely on for the safety and protection of your data. However problems may arise with these solutions, but the good thing is the Webroottech support is all the time available.
On the other hand the Vipre antivirus research labs, the ThreatTrack Security has also recently discovered a variant of ‘Trojan.Win32.Generic.pak!cobra’ in action in the wild. This Trojan variant is kind of trojan downloader that may be associated with multiple scams. It is also usually spread through fake-dubious emails that are impersonated to be sent from popular brands and companies. These fake emails will contain malicious links and malware attachments, usually Zlob Trojan. Clicking or downloading the links or attachments will then force you to download and install rogue security applications, which will either infect the whole PC or steal your data. The variants of this Trojan.Win32.Generic.pak!cobra can be quite dangerous for the computer.
However installing the reliable Vipre Antivirus and Vipre Internet Security can protect you against the Trojan.Win32.Generic.pak!cobra. These are the reliable security solutions from the company, which provides always-on shield against all impending attacks. Plus, they will also provide you advanced but, easy features and tools to effectively scan and remove the malware hiding inside your system.
