Symantec Researchers Warns Against the Reemergence of Image Stock Spam

The data security company Symantec is warning the users against the reemergence of the image stock spam mails. The researchers at the Symantec labs have recently discovered that the image stock spam attacks suddenly became active between June 20 and June 23. Between these days the percent of spam messages containing an image rose up to daunting 52.25 percent, which was just 2.23 percent between June 13 and June 19.

The Image Stock spam has been around for a long time. It was in January 2007, when it was at the highest peak, accounting for nearly 52 percent of the total spam. One very effective type of image stock spam is the Pump-and-Dump image stock spam. It simply causes financial loss to the victim by tricking him/her into a fake stock with fake price. Plus, due to the large size of the email, it could also prevent the email recipient from receiving any legitimate email.

After staying in hibernation for a long time these image stock spam attacks are active again. Symantec has laid down some of the email “Subject:” headers of these spam attacks. They are:

•    Subject: Another Big Report this Monday at the open!
•    Subject: We've Just Come Across Something Huge!
•    Subject: Financial News: Our New Stock Alert!
•    Subject: Daily Stocks Tips
•    Subject: This stock will go nuts today
•    Subject: [REMOVED] Newsdesk - This is the next big stock play

Simply staying away from any kind of spam emails and links, helps you stay protected. Plus, installing the Norton internet security and antivirus software solutions will simply add more to the security of your data and identity. These are strong and useful security software solutions. Plus, the good thing if you come across any issues with them, then their support can be availed quickly just by dialing Norton Antivirus phone support.

You can solve some issues by your own, but some are above your expertise level. So, at times when you are having difficulties in solving the Norton related issues, then, availing the Symantec tech support from experts like Techcillin and others, is the best thing to do.
